It’s in words I find healing,
Words where I find hope.
It’s a world I find meaning,
A way I can cope.
All the noise around me,
gets me caught up and stunned.
I get speechless and tears run down,
It’s not always fun.
It’s in words I find faith,
Where God’s love resides,
A space I can trust,
A space I don’t need to hide.
I hate not being heard,
When emotions take over.
It’s just ‘blah, blah, blah’,
All the words take the power.
They can strike the heart so hard,
They cut like a knife,
Thank God it’s not empty words,
That bring me to life.
But the Word of God,
— where I find real hope,
It’s a place that gives meaning,
A way I can cope.
“The thief comes to steal, kill, and destroy, I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.” – John 10:10
“For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through Him.” – John 3:17
“Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down His life for His friends. John 15:13
These are only three verses,
Which may seem few,
But they are my anchors in this season,
Where I’m not sure what to do.
Where do I go?
What can I say?
I’m surrendering my life to You,
once again, today.
For it’s words that He speaks,
That keep me alive,
It’s His promises, His comfort,
That will help me survive.
