Keep my eyes on You,
Point my heart to Your grace
The love You bestow
daily,
hourly,
always.
To see You in things, people, situations – takes focus.
Magnify the important,
crop out the extra noise,
focus.
Quiet the voices that detract from the focal point,
Adjust the lens to see…
to see all of me, all of You – Life in front of me.
Snap.
Review.
Look again.
Reframe.
A new focal point,
A fresh space,
A new beginning,
to see more.
Let’s do that again.
Bring the viewfinder close,
Close one eye,
Scan the scene and set the settings right.
The lighting, exposure, shutter speed…
Not quite…
Ok, almost there.
You place Your hands on mine,
guide a slight pivot,
adjust the zoom… focus
We press the shutter together – 3, 2, 1, breathe in.. snap.
Breathe out.
Peace.
I smile,
move the viewfinder away.
Review.
A shot I could have never seen,
never capture without the grace of Your love.
Always directing me
exactly to when and where I am called to be.
This time, it’s with 5 years of a new beginning,
stepping into the unknown,
meeting strangers,
learning from scratch,
with a love that I am learning to describe.
This time, with a healed heart,
an openness that only You could mend.
An awareness of my senses,
I can process the pictures,
Keeping specific ones for an album,
You help me see…
“I will exult You, Lord, For you rescued me.
You refused to let my enemies triumph over me.” – Psalm 30:1
“By this I know that You delight in me. My enemy does not shout in triumph over me.” – Psalm 41:11
Thank You for innocence.
Thank You for recovery.
Thank You for creativity.
Thank You for familiarity.
Thank You for friendship.
Thank You for closeness.
Thank You for newness.
Thank You for courage.
Thank You for closure.
Thank you for right now.
I review the shot we took when you led my focus, and I say, Thank You.
Thank You for helping me see and process Your will in Your time.
I pray for eyes to see more of what You have for me.
