What’s Hidden, a poem on heartbreak

Pride
It makes it easy to hide
what I’m feeling inside
as I take strides
in life, one step and leap at a time.

Hurt
what’s hidden in the covert
a smile’s seen in the overt
until it gets converted
into the reality of what truth is.

Guilt
sadly gets built
when the truth is split
after a the jilt
of what was almost amazing.

Regret
when one chance’s all you get
to allow and let
someone become a safety net
until it’s gone with a goodbye.

Heal
what no person or thing can reveal
other than oneself what was sealed
deep within what I feel
breathe in, breathe out… breathe in, breathe out.

Hope
that in time I’ll be able to cope
with what was beyond my scope;
and what ended with a ‘nope’
fear sucks when it gets a hold of you.

Joy
it’s around the bend to enjoy
after getting destroyed
oh the lessons to deploy
what’s hidden.
